Restaurant suggestions in Nerja

Eating out in Nerja

There are a huge number of places to choose from but some of our favourite restaurants in Nerja that we return to every visit include the following…

Scarletta’s
- A lovely varied menu offering a selection of tasty dishes in a lovely environment. Situated in the main street it has a rooftop terrace and a table up there in the warmer months is a must.  Note - you generally need to book a table here beforehand as it gets busy!

Taste of India
- Eat inside or grab a table on Carabeo.  Aromatic menu with Chicken or vegetable shishlak as one of our favourites.

Cibeles
- A nice restaurant with the option to cook your meal on a hot stone as one of their specialty meals.

Sevillanos
- in town next to Scarlettas is another finer dining restaurant offering a varied menu with our favourite being the chicken paella.

Pinocchios
- Calle Cristo - This is an Italian restaurant offering a very varied menu at reasonable prices.

The Cottage
- a lovely family restaurant with some tasty hearty meals. Great too in the colder quieter months with a cosy welcoming fireplace.

Miralmar
- A super cafe ran by a lovely Spanish family offering a selection of meals from basic to heartwarming meals.  Opposite Casa Nerja where you collect the keys!

Little Italy
- Situated along Carabeo this is an extremely cheap restaurant where for 3.50 euros you’ll get yourself a great for pizza or pasta meal. No fine dining here but you do get good portion size for your money. You need to get there early or you will have to queue for a table!

Kronox
- Grab a breakfast or a tasty brunch at a reasonably priced cafe. Grab a paper beforehand and while away the hours people watching or watching the world go buy!

Portifino
- Grab a table on the balcony overlooking the Balcon de Europa and the sea for a tasty breakfast or lunch. Sometimes opens up later, normally after 10am.  Evening meals are equally tasty here and in the winter months a meal on the terrace overlooking the sea with a heater is a must.

Playa & Sol
- situated along Burriana beach, this does a nice breakfast on the beach front - usually opens at 10am or Spanish time!

Rincon del Sol
- right at the end of Burriana beach, this is an upbeat cafe bar offering a selection of foods from just snacks/ice creams to lunch snacks to meals! A great place to totally chill out and relax on the beach front sofas and while away a good few hours!

Cafeteria Cavana
- Situated in Plaza Cavana behind the church, this is a bar we usually visit after a meal out and sit with a coffee or a beer playing cards or simply watching the world go by.

If you simply want to go on a tapas trail here are a few Tapas bars  that we have sampled:

Biznaga
- on the Balcon next to the church.  Great for Tapas!

La Puntilla -
is an extremely Spanish tapas bar with very few tourists and a predominantly fish themed menu. Tucked away in the back streets and frequented by locals!.

Bakery
-  there are many small bakeries but the best one is definitely Panaderia Salvador (Calle Granada, 92). It’s a bit of a stroll but is open from dawn to dusk and the cakes are amazing!
